(St. Paul, MN) — The vice chair of a special commission tasked with redesigning the Minnesota state flag and seal says public input is “pouring in” — around two thousand comments — since the finalists were posted on-line just before Thanksgiving.
Anita Gaul says there appears to be strong support for a state seal incorporating the loon, wild rice, lakes, the North Star and the Norway pine — but she says on the state flag, no consensus seems to be emerging. Gaul says the commission has the option of incorporating facets of various submitted designs, or even approaching from a different angle based on public comments.
Its recommendations are due to the legislature by January 1st.
