Shortly after 2, early Tuesday morning, Alexandria Police officers were informed of an adult male having arrived at Alomere Hospital requiring care due to a gunshot wound to the hand. Upon the officer’s arrival to Alomere, the injured person refused to provide any information to police.

Officers were able to establish that the injured party had shot himself in the hand and the gun used had previously been reported stolen. As a result, additional information was gathered, and a search warrant led police to the stolen firearm used in the shooting. The Firearm was located inside a vehicle on the property. A search warrant was also executed by the Doughlas County SWAT Team at the residence where the shooting occurred. One adult male was located inside the residence and taken into custody on an unrelated outstanding arrest warrant.

The Alexandria Police Department was assisted by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, West Central Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force, and the Douglas County SWAT Team.

On Wednesday, after further investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for 27-year-old, Joshua Robles, of Alexandria, for Felony Receiving or Possession of Stolen Firearm, Felony Possession of a firearm by Prohibited Person, and Felony Reckless Discharge of a Firearm. Robles was last seen in the St. Cloud area. He left a medical facility prior to proper discharge. He is known to stay with associates in Alexandria and Fergus Falls.

The Alexandria Police Department is asking anyone who knows the whereabouts of Robles to call the agency at 320-763-6631. Anyone who provides information can remain anonymous.
