Cally’s Cafe & Coffee will be moving into the facility that FM Bank is building on Lincoln Avenue in Fergus Falls.
Demolition for the Shopko building that previously occupied the site began on Monday, January 8th.
Scott Debrito, President of FM Bank Fergus Falls, says there will be new additions to Cally’s,
“She’ll have some outdoor seating right outside her door. It’ll be kind of overlooking the Otter Tail River. There’ll also be a separate patio right on the river. It’ll be a nice park-like setting, with some nice landscaping and some nice views of the beautiful Otter Tail River that flows right through Fergus Falls.”
Cally’s will also be adding a drive through for the first time in its thirty year history.
Debrito clarifies that the drive through for Cally’s will be on the east side of the building, while FM Bank’s drive through will be on the west side.
Cathy Giefer, owner of Cally’s Cafe & Coffee, finds the move is full of mixed emotions,
“It’s bittersweet. It’ll be fun to be in a new space, have a drive up, and have some beautiful outdoor seating along the river, but on the other hand, this place has been a staple in the same spot for thirty years.”
But Cathy wants to reassure her customers that the change is going to be good,
“We are still going to do the same thing. We’re still going to have the same food, the same drinks, the same staff. We’re just going to move across the street, and have a drive up, and some river seating. That’s it, that’s all that’s going to change.”
Cally’s will keep running at its current location at 127 Lincoln Avenue until the new facility opens up later next year.
