The Battle of the Businesses Bowling Tournament is happening tomorrow (February 10th) at Northern Aire Lanes.
For the last thirty years the Fergus Falls Chamber of Commerce has partnered with Northern Aire Lanes to put on the tournament.
Lisa Workman, the President of the Chamber, says this year’s theme is also going to put an extra spin on businesses’ bowls,
“This year is the ‘Lucky Strike’ tournament. We picked a Las Vegas theme since the Super Bowl is in Las Vegas the next day. We are going to incorporate a little ‘fun gambling’ for extra pins.”
In previous years, the organizations that have bought the ‘Strike’ or ‘Spare’ packages would receive a certain amount of extra pins automatically added to their score, but this year, package holders will be playing cards for their additional pins.
Workman reassures that the tournament is for pros and novices alike,
“This is an event for everyone, from people who have their own shoes, and a locker, and they bowl every Tuesday or Wednesday night, they’re in a league, to folks that the most they know about bowling is which direction the ball goes. It’s all about having fun together.”
All three time slots that businesses will bowl for the tournament are filled.
Along with hosting the bowling tournament, the Fergus Falls Chamber of Commerce works to help their member businesses grow, promote events, and advocate for their members to the City Council and give businesses a voice to local legislation.
