The Alexandria Police Department has received the preliminary results from the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office on the identification of the man who died in the fire on Jefferson Street Wednesday (February 14th).
The victim has been identified as 20-year-old Chance GiGuere, who was living with family at the home where the fire occurred.
The fire started on the main floor of the house and GiGuere was found upstairs.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
There were three adults who were transported to Hennepin County Medical Center, who specialize in burns and smoke inhalation. At this time, the current status of these individuals is unknown.
In addition, there were two school age children that were treated and released from Alomere Hospital the same day of the fire.
