(St. Paul, MN) — A proposed amendment to a public safety funding bill under debate in the Minnesota House could change guidelines on the type of motor vehicle violations that can trigger a traffic stop.
The proposal would prohibit law enforcement from stopping any driver for expired tabs, a burned-out light, hanging objects on a mirror, or excessive window tint.
The amendment was approved by the House Judiciary Committee and is now included in the full ominous public safety bill which could be voted on early this week.
