Richville, MN – At around 1:35 on Thursday afternoon, the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a building on fire in Richville.
According to officials, Daniel Werner had allegedly lit a tree stump on fire, then took a nap.
Werner woke up an hour later to the fire burning his outbuildings and an old vehicle.
Luckily no one was reported injured in the fire, however, officials estimate that the fire damage to his neighbor’s property is between $7,000 and $10,000.
Werner was cited for burning without a permit.
The Perham Fire Department assisted the Sheriff’s Office with putting out the fire.
