This past Saturday, A tragic accident occurred at 506 South Mill Street in Fergus Falls on Saturday, resulting in the death of a local man who was found trapped underneath his vehicle.
The Fergus Falls Police Department responded to the scene at approximately 12:48 PM after a neighbor reported discovering the man under his mid-sized Honda.
Sergeant Nathan Lien of the Fergus Falls Police Department explained that it appears the man had been working on his vehicle when the jack supporting it slipped, causing the car to fall and pin him underneath.
The neighbor, who had noticed the vehicle’s hood up the night before and again the following morning, alerted authorities upon making the grim discovery.
The Fergus Falls Fire Department and Ringdahl Ambulance Service assisted in the extraction.
The Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office has requested the body for further examination.
The identity of the deceased has not yet been released, pending notification of additional next of kin.
This tragic event serves as a sobering reminder of the dangers associated with working under vehicles.
