Moorhead, MN – A Moorhead man is facing several charges for kicking out the windows of a Cass County Sheriff’s Department squad and later a prisoner transport van.
34-year-old Dalton Beyer was stopped by a deputy in Horace Saturday night. After he was arrested for drunken driving, the sheriff’s office says Beyer kicked out a window in the squad. He was then transferred to a transport van, kicked out a window again, and taken to the Cass County Jail.
Combined damages are estimated at $7,600. Multiple charges are expected to include assault on a peace officer, preventing arrest, conspiracy to escape, and criminal mischief. The county says it will ask for reimbursement for damages caused by Beyer.
