New York – McDonald’s is suing four of the nation’s largest meatpackers, including two headquartered in Minnesota.

The company alleges that Minnesota-based JBS and Cargill, along with Tyson and National Meat Packing Company and their subsidiaries, are involved in a price-fixing scheme specifically for beef.

In a federal complaint filed in New York, McDonald’s has accused the companies of engaging in anticompetitive measures, such as collectively limiting supply to boost prices and charging “illegally inflated” amounts.

As of now, the companies involved have not commented on the allegations in the lawsuit.
