In the next few days some City of Fergus Falls residents will receive a letter regarding their water service line and whether it may contain lead or galvanized material. If you do NOT receive a letter, city staff knows your service line is made of safe plumbing materials, as required by law.
All construction after 1987 as well as records the city has on file assisted in the inventory process.
If you DO receive a letter (for older homes or those unknown), the city conducted a physical inspection of your service line.
The letter indicates our findings, health risks and next steps for possible line replacement.
Some homeowners were unable to be reached and the city will still gladly schedule an inspection.
