Underwood Man Injured and Arrested in Head-On Collision

Underwood, MN – A man was arrested after fleeing a crash scene Wednesday evening (November 20th).

The Minnesota State Patrol responded to a head-on collision on State Highway 210 near Wilson Road at around 8:05. According to officials, the crash involved a white Chevrolet Pickup and a red Dodge Pickup. The driver of the Dodge fled the crash scene on foot.

A search was initiated for the suspect with the assistance of a K9 unit from the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Department. The fleeing suspect, a 44-year-old man from Underwood, was located in a barn not too far away from the scene. He was taken to Lake Region Hospital and then booked into Otter Tail County Jail where he awaits charges of 1st Degree DWI, Test Refusal and Hit and Run Property Damage.

The occupants from the other vehicle were not injured.
