Battle Lake, MN – Minnesota state parks and trails will host candlelight events across the state this winter, including one at Glendalough State Park on Saturday, February 8th.

Visitors can drop by any time between 6:00 and 8:30 p.m. for walking as stars twinkle overhead and candles flicker in the snow.

“Winter candlelight events are a magical way to experience Minnesota’s state parks and trails,” said Ann Pierce, director of Parks and Trails at the Minnesota DNR. “There’s something truly special about walking a snowy trail under the glow of candlelight, where the quiet of the night and the sparkle of the snow create a peaceful escape. It’s a chance to slow down, connect with nature, spend time with friends and family and find beauty in the stillness of winter.”

The 1-mile trail starts at the Lodge and Dining Hall and is suitable for beginner-level hikers of all ages.

The evening wraps up with a cup of hot cider near a crackling bonfire.

A vehicle permit is required to enter Minnesota state parks and recreation areas.
