Otter Tail County, MN – The Otter Tail County Board of Commissioners has officially declared Friday, May 9th, as Child Care Provider Appreciation Day.
This day recognizes the important work of the 124 licensed family childcare providers, childcare center teachers, and early childhood caregivers who serve more than 1,300 children and their families across the county.
The Board of Commissioners says childcare providers play a major role in helping families, communities, and the local economy. They offer a safe and supportive place for children to grow and learn. Providers are not only caregivers but also teachers, mentors, and trusted adults in the lives of young children. Additionally, these providers are a key part of the workforce system. By supporting parents and guardians who work, they also support local businesses and the entire economy of Otter Tail County.
“We have great providers in our community,” said Otter Tail County Board Chair Wayne Johnson. “Providers allow children to grow in a nurturing environment, so we’re thankful for them and all the work they do.”
On May 9th, Otter Tail County encourages residents to thank childcare providers for their dedication and compassion. Whether it’s a kind word, a note, or a simple thank-you, every show of appreciation helps recognize the important work they do every day.
