Dalton, MN – A Dalton man wanted for selling methamphetamine is in custody.
56-year-old John Raymond Vandeneykel was booked into Otter Tail County jail this weekend on a nearly 2-year-old warrant for selling and possessing meth.
Otter Tail County prosecutors say that on May 25th, 2023, Maxwell Bauer was arrested after Sheriff Barry Fitzgibbons discovered three bags of meth in his possession weighing 38.6 grams. Bauer said he wanted his motorcycle to be brought to Vandeneykel’s place, and that he was just coming from there. Prosecutors say Bauer’s arrest was not the first instance of associated methamphetamine use and distribution at the home.
On June 2nd, 2023, Special Agents with the West Central Drug and Violent Crime Task Force executed a search warrant at Vandeneykel’s residence. The agents say they found multiple pieces of packaging equipment and drug paraphernalia with meth residue on it, as well as 1.6 grams of presumptive meth and a bong filled with 26.4 grams of liquid containing methamphetamine.
Later that month, a warrant was issued for Vandeneykel’s arrest. He made his first court appearance on Monday and is charged with two counts of 1st Degree Sale of Drugs and a count of 2nd Degree Drug Possession.
