Wadena, MN – A man from Wadena that was accused of setting fire to a camper during a domestic assault incident has been sentenced.

Otter Tail County prosecutors say 50-year-old Sean Raymond Weber was arrested in December following a domestic incident with his on-again, off-again girlfriend. Court documents say that the two got into an argument and Weber became physical by aggressively grabbing the victim’s arm and punching her in the legs.

Prosecutors say after the victim began to pack her things, Weber told her that he might as well burn the place to the ground before lighting a torch and attempting to set the bed on fire. The victim was able to put the fire out, but Weber then dumped a skillet of hot sloppy joe meat on her head and dropped the skillet on her before punching her again.

Court document show the victim called 911. When Otter Tail County deputies arrived at the scene, Weber was in his vehicle and had blocked the victim from leaving. Despite commands from deputies to stop and get out of the vehicle, he sped away from the scene. The pursuit continued onto County Highway 75 at speeds of approximately 85 miles per hour. The pursuit lasted approximately 6.5 miles until the suspect vehicle went into a ditch.

Weber was initially charged with Arson, Fleeing Law Enforcement, and two counts of Domestic Assault, but in January he pleaded guilty to Fleeing Law Enforcement and one count of Domestic Assault by Causing Fear. On Monday, May 19th, he was sentenced to 68 days in the Otter Tail County Detention Facility that he has already served and 5 years of probation.
