Community Turns Out in Force for Successful “Shop, Move ’n Groove” Event in Fergus Falls

Downtown Fergus Falls was alive with activity on Thursday, July 10th, as the community gathered at Spies Riverfront Park for the annual Shop, Move ’n Groove event.

Hosted by the Fergus Falls Area Chamber of Commerce, the event brought together residents, businesses, and visitors for an evening of music, food, shopping, and family-friendly entertainment.

Running from 4 to 8 p.m., the event featured a live performance, an expansive outdoor vendor fair, games for all ages, and downtown-wide sidewalk sales.

The celebration highlighted the vibrant local economy and strong community connections that define Fergus Falls.

Entertainment and Activities

Headlining the main stage was The Voice alum Blind Joe, whose performance served as the musical centerpiece of the event.

His set attracted large crowds to the park, contributing to the festive atmosphere that spread throughout the downtown area.

Attendees had access to a wide variety of activities. Children enjoyed bounce houses, giant lawn games, bubbles, tic-tac-toe, a dunk tank, and mini-golf stations.

Meanwhile, adults explored many vendor booths from local businesses, nonprofit organizations, and community services offering product samples, prize drawings, and demonstrations.

Food and Local Flavors

The food truck court offered something for every palate, with local vendors serving up Mexican favorites, comfort food, baked goods, and international cuisine.

The selection included Don Pablo’s Mexican, Dang That’s Good!, Mother Goose & Beans, Ruby’s Pinoy Kitchen, and more.

Beverages were also available from Outstate Brewing and other nearby establishments.

Business Participation and Downtown Sales

In conjunction with the festivities, downtown retailers held extended hours and event-exclusive sidewalk sales.

The activity generated significant foot traffic and offered a boost to local businesses.

The event was the culmination of a multi-week shopping campaign that ran from July 1 through July 13, encouraging residents to explore and support local merchants.

Community Engagement

The event emphasized accessibility and inclusion, with no cost for admission and complimentary booth spaces for Chamber members.

Local agencies such as the fire and police departments, health providers, financial institutions, and family resource organizations all took part, offering an opportunity for public engagement and visibility.
