New York Mills, MN – The identity of the pedestrian that was struck and killed by a passing pickup truck in rural New York Mills last week has been released.
The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office says that 24-year-old Andrew Bixby of New York Mills was walking along County Highway 67 just after 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 1, when he was struck by a pickup. Deputies responded to the scene and located Bixby in the ditch. Live saving efforts were administered by first responders, but Bixby was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Deputies say the pickup driver, a 42-year-old New York Mills man, stopped at the scene and was cooperative with the investigation. Officials say he was not arrested at this time
The incident remains under investigation.
