Fergus Falls, MN -The City of Fergus Falls is launching a 4-way stop pilot project in downtown Fergus Falls.

From November 1 through December 1, 2025, the traffic signals at the intersections of Lincoln Ave & Mill St and Lincoln Ave & Court St will operate in flashing red mode, functioning as four-way stops. This temporary change will demonstrate how a four-way stop pattern affects traffic, both vehicular and pedestrian, in the downtown area.

During the pilot project, “Walk” and “Don’t Walk” signals on the flashing stoplights will not be active. As a reminder, drivers must yield to pedestrians in crosswalks.

Following the pilot period, the City will review feedback and performance before determining whether permanent adjustments are warranted. A second pilot project may be planned for Spring 2026.

For questions or to share feedback during the pilot, please contact the Public Works department at (218) 332-5424 or fill out the feedback form on the home page of the city’s website.
