Fergus Falls, MN – A large farm building has been destroyed following a fire in rural Fergus Falls on New Year’s Day.
The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy on routine patrol spotted the fire about 4 miles south of Fergus Falls at around 8 a.m. Upon arrival the deputy located a fire in a large pole shed-style building on the property. The Fergus Falls, Dalton, and Wendell Fire Departments responded to the scene to combat the blaze.
The total dollar amount of damage is unknown; however, the shed is considered a total loss. It contained equipment, bales, animal feed and other items. No people or livestock were injured.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, but officials believe it to be non-suspicious in nature.
