Authorities are investigating the deaths of an adult and a child discovered Monday afternoon in rural Becker County.
According to the Becker County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called at about 12:39 p.m. March 30 to a residence in Holmesville Township. The call came from a man who went to check on his brother after he failed to show up for work.
The man told authorities he went to his brother’s home and found him dead from an apparent gunshot wound.
When deputies arrived at the residence, they also located a child inside the home who was deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.
The Becker County Sheriff’s Office says the incident remains under investigation. Authorities have not released the names of the victims as they work to notify family members.
Officials say the situation appears to be isolated and there is no known threat to the public.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension Crime Lab is assisting the Becker County Sheriff’s Office with the ongoing investigation.
