Fergus Falls, MN – The City of Fergus Falls is holding a Homecoming Party honoring Chris Tungseth following his success as a Top 5 contestant on Season 24 of American Idol. The celebration will take place Saturday, May 16, 2026, with activities planned throughout the day.
Festivities will begin with a homecoming parade at 2 p.m. in downtown Fergus Falls. Parade float entries will be accepted online through 4 p.m. on Thursday, May 14. The parade theme is red, white, and blue.

Parking for parade attendees will be available in downtown public lots and on streets where parking is generally permitted, except along Lincoln Avenue and Friberg Avenue. Both streets will be marked as no parking beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday morning.
Fans will also enjoy a live performance by Chris Tungseth at 6 p.m. at Kirkbride Park, located on the former Regional Treatment Center grounds. The concert venue, located behind the building horseshoe, will open at 4:30 p.m.
Due to the anticipated large crowd, parking on the concert grounds will be limited. A designated drop-off area will be available for individuals unable to walk long distances, and a limited number of accessible parking spaces will be located near the venue. Carpooling is strongly encouraged, and guests should be prepared to walk.
Attendees of both the parade and concert are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. Outside food and beverages are permitted, and food vendors and beer trucks will also be available at the concert venue.
Chris Tungseth has expressed sincere appreciation for the community’s support and votes throughout his journey on American Idol. Before, during, and after the concert, attendees will have opportunities to financially support Chris as he continues the next steps of his musical career.
