Rothsay, MN – Two people were hurt after crashing into a disabled car near Rothsay Friday night.
State troopers say that just before 11 p.m., a Toyota pickup was heading west on I-94 towards Rothsay, when it lost control and crashed into the center median. The disabled truck ended up blocking the left lane of the interstate. An SUV was also heading west when it struck the pickup. A FedEx semi also came along and joined the collision.
The driver of the SUV, 25-year-old Allie Critchley of Maple Grove, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Lake Region Hospital for treatment. Her passenger, 26-year-old Austin Young of Maple Grove, also suffered non-life-threatening injuries, but was airlifted to Sanford Hospital for treatment.
The occupants of the pickup and the semi were not hurt. Troopers say alcohol is not suspected to be a factor in the crash.
The State Patrol was assisted by the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office, Rothsay Fire, Ringdahl Ambulance, and Sanford Air Med.
