Fergus Falls, MN – Heading into the 4th of July weekend, crews working on the Highway 210/I-94 Interchange Reconstruction Project remain on track for completion by November.
Emma Olson, MnDOT Public Affairs Coordinator for District 4, says crews are getting closer to paving on Highway 210. She says, “On the west side of the bridge, they are still finishing up getting the grading done. It’s a lot of dirt work, and so the rain of course impacts that. That’s going to effect when that paving is going to happen. More than likely, we’re probably going to see that as early as the week of July 13th.”
Olson says that the week of July 13th will also be when head-to-head traffic on I-94 is going to switch over to the other side and crews will set the beams over the eastbound lane, with the hope that the bridge deck will be poured toward the end of July.
In the upcoming weeks, as the pipe crews continue on the east side of the bridge, there will be a time when Western Avenue will temporarily close to allow for installation of pipe across the roadway. One side will be closed at a time, for up to three days, and traffic will be detoured to local roads around the closure. More details to come as the schedule becomes known.
Crews will not be working today and will be back to work on Monday. Olson reminds drivers that even though crews are not present, you must remain cautious when going through a work zone.
