Fergus Falls, MN – On Thursday, July 23, the Sunset Hill Event Center in Fergus Falls held an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony with food trucks and live music.
The event center houses a large number of amenities: bedrooms, a beauty room, lounging areas, camping spaces with power, an outdoor amphitheater, and both indoor and outdoor event spaces.
Carrie Sikkink, owner of Sunset Hill, said that she created the event center because she felt there wasn’t enough spaces in Fergus Falls where people could gather and do things together. “Everything that we schedule, from bridal showers to weddings, are all out of Fergus Falls and there’s a lot of money not staying in our community,” Sikkink said. “So, I’m hoping this brings more business back to Fergus Falls: for catering, for hotels, and all the other things that go along with events. I’m hoping that brings more to our community, not just my business.”
The Sunset Hill Event Center officially opened late last year. It is located at 27054 County Hwy 1, Fergus Falls, MN 56537.
