Tasha Rohlfs. (OTLC)
Otter Tail County, MN – Otter Tail Lakes Country (OTLC) is pleased to announce that Tasha Rohlfs has been named the organization’s new Partnership Director, marking an exciting step forward as OTLC continues its mission of promoting Otter Tail County as a premier place to visit, live, work, and play.
Rohlfs is no stranger to the organization or the partners it serves. As OTLC’s Brand Ambassador, she has spent the past year building relationships with businesses, community leaders, tourism partners, and local organizations while helping tell the stories that make Otter Tail County unique.
In her new role, Rohlfs will serve as the primary connection between OTLC and its growing network of partners. She will work closely with businesses, nonprofits, cities, attractions, resorts, and community organizations to maximize partnership benefits, develop marketing opportunities, and collaborate on initiatives that showcase everything Otter Tail County has to offer.
Tourism Is the Front Door to Economic Development
Since 1976, Otter Tail Lakes Country has served as the region’s nonprofit destination marketing organization, working to increase awareness of the county through strategic marketing, storytelling, partnerships, and regional collaboration.
While tourism marketing directly benefits resorts, restaurants, attractions, retailers, and other visitor-focused businesses, its impact extends far beyond the traditional tourism industry.
Tourism is the front door to broader economic development. People often experience Otter Tail County as visitors before they consider it as a place to live, work, raise a family, start a business, or invest. Every visitor is an opportunity to introduce someone to the communities, businesses, quality of life, and opportunities that make the county special.
“Regional promotion doesn’t just benefit tourism businesses—it benefits all of us,” said Dan Hurder, President of the Otter Tail Lakes Country Association Board and owner of The Otter and Marge’s Diner. “When we bring people to Otter Tail County, they stay in our hotels, eat at our restaurants, shop in our stores, visit our communities, and experience what it’s like to be here. Some of those visitors will eventually become residents, employees, business owners, or investors. That’s why OTLC’s work is important to every business in the county, not just those traditionally associated with tourism.”
By raising the profile of Otter Tail County, OTLC helps attract visitors who support local businesses, introduces prospective residents and workers to the region, encourages investment, and strengthens the overall economic vitality of the county.
A New Point of Connection for Partners
Rohlfs will play a key role in helping businesses and organizations better understand and utilize the opportunities available through OTLC partnerships.
“I’m excited to continue building relationships with businesses and communities throughout Otter Tail County in this new role,” said Rohlfs. “There are so many great businesses and organizations doing incredible things here, and I want to make sure they understand how OTLC can help tell their stories and connect them with new audiences.”
