Minnetonka, MN (Learfield) – A conservative legal group is asking the U.S. Department of Education to investigate 16 Minnesota school districts, including Moorhead Area Public Schools, over their gender identity policies.
The Upper Midwest Law Center filed a federal civil rights complaint, arguing the districts violate Title IX by allowing transgender students to participate in sports and use facilities that align with their gender identity. The group also says some districts permit student name and pronoun changes without parental notification.
The law center is seeking federal enforcement action against the districts and the Minnesota State High School League.
