Alec Story. (Kaddatz Galleries)
Fergus Falls, MN – Kaddatz Galleries has announced that Alec Story is its new Executive Director.
Story brings experience in arts and cultural leadership, recently serving as Executive Director of Villa Terrace Museum & Gardens in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He holds a master’s degree in art history and museum leadership from the University of Houston.
As Executive Director, Story will work alongside the board, staff, artists, donors, and community partners to guide the organization’s future, strengthen its long-term sustainability, and explore new opportunities for artistic programming and community partnerships and engagement. Relocating from Milwaukee, he begins work on November 2.
“I am delighted to become a part of both the Fergus Falls community and the Kaddatz Galleries. I cannot wait to contribute to the Kaddatz’s mission of fostering artistic excellence, cultural enrichment, and meaningful arts engagement,” said Story.
“We are excited to welcome Alec to Kaddatz Galleries and look forward to the experience, energetic perspective, and leadership he will bring to our organization,” said Carolyn Glesne, president of the Kaddatz Galleries board. “Kaddatz has a prominent place in our community. We see tremendous opportunity to build on that foundation, strengthen our relationships, support regional artists, and invite even more people to experience the arts.”
As the organization welcomes new leadership, it does so with appreciation for the people who have brought it to this point and enthusiasm for the possibilities ahead. The board extends its heartfelt gratitude to Nancy X. Valentine, former Executive Director, for her leadership, dedication, and contributions to Kaddatz Galleries. They also extend thanks to Stacy Wendt, Artistic Director, for her work supporting the gallery’s exhibitions, education programs, and relationships with artists. Both these women’s contributions helped to shape Kaddatz into an important part of Fergus Falls’ cultural landscape.
As Kaddatz Galleries begins this next chapter, its commitment remains the same: to celebrate artists, foster creativity, and make the visual arts an accessible and meaningful part of life in Fergus Falls and the surrounding region. Community members are invited to visit Kaddatz Galleries, explore current exhibitions and programs, and join in welcoming Alec Story to the community.
