Fergus Falls, MN – Be a Villager Feed-A-Thon organizer Jeney Christensen says over the course of two days, volunteers gave out all 500 meal kits that were prepared for the event. They also gave out 86 cans of formula, 100 loaves of bread, about 180 pounds of fresh fruit, and other items that were donated.
Jeney says volunteers served 146 households for a total of 350 people in the community and surrounding areas. The Be a Villager Feed-A-Thon is an event where volunteers distributed supplies to those in need due to the record-breaking federal government shutdown that began in October and ended last week.
Jeney hopes to hold the event again in December.
