Fergus Falls, MN – Construction on the Highway 210/I-94 Interchange Reconstruction Project pushes forward as crews prepare for head-to-head traffic on the interstate starting Wednesday, weather permitting.
MnDOT Engineer Jesse Miller says traffic will be moved to the southbound side of the interstate to allow crews to bring the bridge beams in. “They’re going to set three beams on Thursday, and then finish setting the beams on Friday, the additional six. And that’ll just be on the east side of the bridge,” Miller said.
After the beams are installed, Miller says crews will begin work on the decking as the next step of the bridge construction. Along with the bridge work, crews are progressing on getting Highway 210 ready for pavement. Miller says, “They’re putting in pipes, they’re getting the grading work done, so then the next step is to start paving in probably three weeks, or something like that.
Miller says the project is progressing on schedule, with crews adapting to some minor weather delays last week. As always, it’s important to remember that Highway 210 and the surrounding businesses remain accessible during this construction project.
