Brooklyn Park, MN – Federal investigators are working to determine what caused a small plane to crash shortly after takeoff from Crystal Airport on Saturday, killing a North Dakota lawmaker and the pilot.
Authorities say Representative Liz Conmy of Fargo was among those killed when the aircraft went down in a park in Brooklyn Park just moments after departure. The pilot, identified as Joseph Cass, was a retired physician from Mayo Clinic.
Officials confirm that no one on the ground was injured. The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration are leading the investigation and moved the plane on Sunday.
