Battle Lake, MN – A missing person on the Otter Tail River was found safe.
The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office says that at around 9:12 p.m. Thursday, a female reported that a 20-year-old West Fargo man was missing along the river northwest of Battle Lake.
The man was reportedly tubing on the river when he separated himself from his group. The group searched for him for about 10 minutes before reporting it to the Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies utilized water patrol units, a thermal drone, the Battle Lake Fire and Rescue’s Rescue boat, and the Otter Tail County Sherp team during the response.
The male was located unharmed and on foot by a deputy in the 27000 block of County Highway 83. He was issued a citation for minor consumption of alcohol and returned to his group.
