Runners are getting ready to take to the streets of Fergus Falls, Saturday, with the Lake Region Run. All of the events including the start and finish line will take place at Dr Allen Magnuson Park.
The ten-mile race and ten-mile relay, will start at 7:30 with racers passing by many of the towns signature buildings and features. The 1-mile run starts at 8:15 and the 5k at 9am. With all of the construction this year, race Director Karoline Gustafson discusses some of the changes to the course; “The 5K this year essentially brings you on the east side of Lake Alice, shoots you straight up to Fir Avenue, and then you go west for one block on FIr and then come straight back south. So it’s kind of more of an out and back. The 10-Mile changes slightly over the McKinley area where we had to add just a little bit because they don’t come back on Cleveland. “
This year also features a special finishers medal, Gustafson, “We have a fun medal again, anther custom medal, and this year’s highlight is Lake Alice. We’ve never done Lake Alice, and we are always on the lake for the run put that on a medal.”
