Hoffman, MN – A body was found following a house fire in Grant County this weekend.
At around 1 a.m. Sunday, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office received multiple reports of a large fire in Land Township, near Hoffman. A Traverse County deputy was driving through the area and provided an exact location of the fire and updated responding personnel that the residence and nearby structures were on fire.
Grant County dispatch paged out to the Hoffman, Barrett, Kensington, and Herman Fire Departments for assistance. When fire crews arrived, the home and all structures on the property were fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters extinguished the fire.
During the investigation, a person was found dead inside the home. The body was transported to the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office to determine a cause of death and positively identify the victim.
The Sheriff’s Office is investigating and no further information is available at this time.
