Pelican Rapids, MN – A teenage girl from Dent was injured on Sunday night after the ATV she was riding crashed into a downed tree.
The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an ATV crash on 280th Avenue, east of Pelican Rapids, at around 8:26 p.m. Sunday. Deputies reported that the 15-year-old male driver lost control of the ATV, veering off the road, into the ditch, and colliding with the downed tree, causing both occupants to be thrown from the vehicle.
The passenger, a 17-year-old female, sustained head, neck, and hip pain, and was flown to Sanford Hospital in Fargo for care. Neither occupant was wearing a helmet, and the driver was not injured. The accident remains under investigation.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Life Link 3 and Pelican Rapids Ambulance.
