Fergus Falls, MN – The West Otter Tail County Fair is celebrating its 150th anniversary July 15th-18th. In honor of the 150th anniversary, the gate admission will be free all 4 days.

One of the main attractions of the Fair is the 4-H Blue Ribbon Auction on Saturday, as well as the various 4-H animal shows. Mike Holstrom with the WOTC Fair Board says the 4-H kids play an important role. “They are the backbone of our fair,” Holstrom said. “We are very fortunate in that we have so many animals that come to the fair. A lot of local businesses, moms and dads and uncles and aunts come to support the 4-H kids. That’s turned into a big event.”

One big event not returning to the fair this year is the demolition derby. Holstrom said, “There’s been some injuries in the area, and in other areas. We had one close call here last year, so we’re just taking a little break and we’re going to see if things change any. Just follow along for a while.”

On Friday, July 17th at 8:00 PM, the acclaimed country band Mason Dixon Line will take the Grandstand stage for a powerhouse evening performance. Beyond the grandstand, fairgoers can catch incredible local talent performing throughout the four-day event on the Free Stage, including 57 Chevy and the Jolly Pops.

Gate admission has been covered by the West Otter Tail County Fair on Wednesday, Quality Toyota on Thursday, Minnesota Motor Company on Friday, and Fergus Home & Hardware on Saturday.

A full schedule and more information can be found on the WOTC Fair website.
