Parkers Prairie, MN – The woman found dead in a house fire near Parkers Prairie this week has been identified.

The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office says 77-year-old Paulette Venzke was found dead after law enforcement responded to a report of a house explosion northwest of Parkers Prairie Tuesday morning. Deputies say she was a resident of the home. A family dog is missing and presumed to have died in the incident.

One Henning fireman was injured in the initial response to the scene. The Sheriff’s Office says the fireman was treated and released from the hospital. No other injuries were reported.

While the investigation is ongoing, deputies do not suspect foul play.
