Alison Olson Awarded 2026 Jordan Tommerdahl Memorial Scholarship

Fergus Falls, MN – The Lake Region Healthcare Foundation is pleased to announce the 2026 Jordan Tommerdahl Memorial Endowment Scholarship has been awarded to Alison Olson of Fergus Falls.

The $2500 award honors the life and legacy of Jordan Tommerdahl, and is awarded to help offset tuition costs for students pursuing advanced mental health degrees. Alison is working towards completing a master’s degree and Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW)certification through the University of North Dakota (UND). Alison currently works as an Oncology Social Worker at the Lake Region Healthcare Cancer Center in Fergus Falls.

In the application process, a colleague of Alison wrote in a letter of recommendation:

“I am consistently impressed by Alison’s dedication to supporting patients and families in the Emergency Department, Hospital, Cancer Center and clinical settings. She possesses a rare blend of strong rapport building, collaboration…critical thinking and genuine, compassionate care. Alison is an effective advocate for patients and families navigating complex social systems.”
