St. Paul, MN – State Representative Jeff Backer (R-Browns Valley) received the 2025 Legislator of Distinction award from the Coalition of Greater Minnesota Cities. He was honored for his work this past legislative session as one of the key people in helping address the EMS challenges in Greater Minnesota.
Representative Backer says, “I’m honored to be recognized by the Coalition of Greater Minnesota Cities as a 2025 Legislator of Distinction. Serving our communities and advocating for Greater Minnesota’s needs at the Capitol is a privilege, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to keep working hard for the people I represent.”
As the GOP Chair for the House Health Finance and Policy Committee, he was instrumental in shepherding the EMS Operating Deficit Grant Program through the House. He was also a firm negotiator with the Senate to ensure its final inclusion in the state budget.
