Fergus Falls, MN – A Fergus Falls man has been sentenced for burgling his former employer.

On Wednesday, 40-year-old Justin Michael Hanson was sentenced to 30 months at the Minnesota Correctional Facility in St. Cloud for comitting 2nd degree burglary at the Casey’s on East Vernon Avenue.

The sentence comes after Hanson submitted an Alford plea in June, meaning he maintains that he’s innocent, but admits on the record that the prosecution has enough evidence to likely secure a conviction at trial.

Prosecutors say Hanson and two others, Jennifer Loomer and the late Ryan McGuire, broke into the Casey’s in December 2024 and stole $5,000 in cash and over 30 cartons of cigarettes. Hanson and Loomer were former employees of Casey’s who had been terminated prior to the incident.
