Wolverton, MN – A Wolverton man has been sentenced for manslaughter after shooting someone at a New Year’s party.
On Wednesday, 27-year-old Myron Johanson was sentenced to spend six years in the Minnesota Correctional Facility in St. Cloud after he pleaded guilty to 2nd degree manslaughter.
Prosecutors say 22-year-old Jorden Boehm was killed from a gunshot wound to the next at a New Year’s party this year. Witnesses say Johanson had been waving a gun at the party and pointed it at several people.
Before the shooting, witnesses say Johanson put the gun under Boehm’s chin and asked if he trusted him. The gun fired. Johanson called police shortly after and was taken into custody.
He was originally charged with 3rd degree murder along with manslaughter, however, that was dismissed as part of a plea agreement in April.
