Perham Woman Sentenced for Sending Death Threats to Ex On Facebook

Perham, MN – A Perham woman has been sentenced for threatening her ex on Facebook.

On Monday, 40-year-old Alyssa Marie Bell was sentenced to 5 years on probation for threats of violence after pleading guilty in March.

Prosecutors say that in February, Bell sent multiple aggressive and threatening messages to her ex through Facebook Messenger. When Otter Tail County deputies reached out to Bell, she confirmed she had sent the texts. She told officers that she was upset about her ex giving her an STI and accused him of being a pedophile. Bell also said she had been drunk when she sent the messages.

Some of the message included in the court filings include:

  • “I hope you f***ing burn in hell if you ever f***ing did anything like that to my daughter you’d be dead by now I hope you know”
  • A meme with the caption, “If murder wasn’t a felony . . .”
  • “It would be worth it”
  • “I’d kill you”
  • “I’d do it right now if I could”
  • “I have my dads guns he just passed away 2 weeks ago. Left me a reallllly nice .410 Winchester. That would blow your brains out wouldn’t it?”
  • “You should have your d**k cut off for what you did Lorena Bobbitt motherf*****r”
